Here's the third. This is pretty much going to be my weekly posting schedule now: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday. All usually around midnight, even though bathroom sessions can occur at any point in the day or night. Another thing is, I posted an email address in the description above, and I'd love to hear back from people about the content I post, it'll certainly help me post some better choons. Anyways, down to business. Last week ended on some pretty slow jams, so tonight I'm gonna post some more upbeat tracks for your listening enjoyment. Lets start things off...
INF - Power Moves, Baby(Electric/House)
What's there to say about this song, or about the man behind it. INF (or Bas te Braak), is a Dutch rapper who's been around for quite a long time. Unable to find anyone who could create good enough beats for him to rap over, he began making his own. Around 2001, he decided to hang up the mic, and stick to the beats. In this song, we can see why he made this crucial decision. Enjoy this track, and if you get the album, enjoy the one or two line banter of a couple at the end of every song.
Deadmau5 - Some Chords (Electric/Dance)
I cannot take any credit for this song. This was introduced to me at my last bathroom session by a friend named Meredith. I plainly remember this being as the best 7 minutes of my life at the time being. If you've never heard of Deadmau5 before, and this song doesn't convince you to check him out, then allow me to encourage you further. Check him out. I think this song is one of a very few selection of Electric songs that you can listen to for 7 minutes without having it feel too repetitive. This is a great song. And Meredith, thanks for Some Chords.
Miike Snow - Animal (Punks Jump Up Remix)(Indie/Electric/Dance)
And we're back to Miike Snow. They sent breakdowns of their album to the likes of Crookers and Peter Bjorn and John along with numerous other artists. This is from a selected few that Miike Snow released on an EP. Have a listen, and jam along in your chair if need be.
Sidney Samson - Riverside (Dance/Electric)
Here's the club banger for the week. A big bumpin' jam from Sidney Samson, a young Dutch DJ, who's yet to release any album. This is his first single, and within days of it's release, it skyrocketed to the top 10 of the European charts. Have a listen, and keep an eye out, because if he can continue to produce beats like this one, we're definitely gonna see him here in North American in the not so distant future.
Passion Pit - Eyes As Candles (Indie/Electric)
Slowing things down now. Great track by a great band. Out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, they've been around for a couple years, but this is a gem off of their first album "Manners" that didn't make it in the selection of singles. I'm still waiting Passion Pit, tell me how long I have to wait to hear something new from you!!
