This is a blog, dedicated to music enjoyed in its purest form: While sitting on a bathroom floor. As you listen to these songs, don't hesitate to send me songs as well. I'll listen to any song, and if it's good, I'll post it along with the other ones.

I really enjoy hearing what people think of the songs I play them, so send me your comments, criticisms, song, thoughts, or anything else you can think of. I'll get back to you with a (hopefully) witty retort.

Good Evening.

Here's something new. A post BEFORE midnight. Unfortunately, I may or may not be coming down with something, so I'm not feeling the best. So tonight, assuming I don't fall asleep at the keyboard, it gonna be all about those wicked slow tunes that make you think of better times, in better places, with better people. Give these tracks a listen, and let them take you somewhere else. Maybe to bed.

Enter Shikari - Adieu (Post-Hardcore/Acoustic)

Now I know what you're thinking, "how can a post-hardcore band lull me to sleep?" Well, this song just could do it. All acoustic, with a bit of synth, and very powerful lyrics, this is definately in my all time favourite songs list. Coming from British band Enter Shikari's first studio album, "Adieu" is about losing someone, and how life can be a bitch, but we still keep going. Even now as I listen to it, I think back to the times that this song has given me the biggest shit eating grin, and made me well up with tears.

Frightened Rabbit - Nothing Like You (Indie/Folk)

What can I say about Frightened Rabbit? I was just recently turned onto them by a couple really good new friends. Straight from Scotland, this song is off of their most recent album "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks", and is really fantastic. Again, really powerful lyrics, like the line "she was not the cure for cancer..." grab you and pull you in deeper to this thought provoking track.

We Are Scientists - After Hours (Indie/Alternative)

This song is off of their 2008 album release titled "Brain Thrust Mastery", and is one of those songs that can easily get stuck in your head. Superb track (of course), but what makes it better is an incredible video showing who man's best friend is, and a couple reasons why. Watch the video, and hopefully get a good laugh out of it while enjoying a great track.

Toro Y Moi - Blessa (Indie/Synthpop)

A genre description of this song I heard was definitely something new: "Dream-wave". Its pretty accurate. This song is like a dream unfolding before your eyes, well, that is if they're closed. The swelling guitars, catchy beat, and obscure vocals really take you far away. This song is upbeat, yet almost like you're floating on a cloud. This track is off his 2010 release "Causers Of This" (which I highly recommend to anybody), and is really really REALLY something worth listening to over and over.

Metric - Help I'm Alive (Acoustic) (Indie/Acoustic)

First of all, I love Emily Haines. Second of all, who doesn't? This is a super great acoustic set of the song "Help I'm Alive" by Toronto's Metric (again with the Toronto). It wouldn't be that bold of a statement to say that I almost prefer this version to the album version, but they are both really great songs. Enjoy this, and have a good night!
