Spring!

Spring has sprung, which means
it's time for sweaters at night, 
and some Indie Rock.


Yeah, I went all Haiku on that one. Yeah, it took me a good 15 minutes to write. And yeah, it's Indie Rock time.


Something about the Spring just makes me want to take advantage of the sun, defrost my bones, and listen to some sweet Indie Rock. Just kinda makes you forget all of the other things in your life that are going on, like a mini vacation...but in your head. I just finally escaped from the grasp of House and Dubstep, and into the warm grasp of Indie Rock, which gives me a chance to listen to all of the great albums I've missed while at Dubstep shows, or at my desk with my brain plugged into endless amounts of House music via headphones. 


Anyways, here's a nice playlist of some sweet Indie songs that'll help you enjoy the coming spring weather (cause apparently we're getting snow tomorrow here in Jersey). I guess I can't really call this the "Tuesday Two" since two songs is hardly a playlist. So here's the "Tuesday Ten". Yeah. Rolls of the tongue.

New Music Tuesday

I don't know about anyone else, but Monday was a struggle. Thank god Tuesday means new releases! This week was unreal. Amazing albums with big tracks. However I'm tired, and can't go into much detail. Here are four tracks I liked of of four different albums.

Beans - Glass Coffins

Beans comes back hard with his choppy off beat rhymes in "End It All". There's some amazing cameo producer appearances by the likes of DJ Nobody, and Sam Fog of Interpol.

Bright Eyes - Shell Games

I listened to this whole album through and absolutely loved every minute. The album's release coincided with Connor Oberst's birthday (Happy Belated Connor!), and steers away from their normal folky sound. Oberst said that he wanted this album to "rocking, and for lack of a better term, contemporary, or modern."

P.J. Harvey - Hanging In The Wire

P.J. Harvey - Hanging In The Wire

Very interesting album from P.J. Harvey. This album was actually recorded in a Church in Germany, and was pretty much all recorded live. Great great feel from this album, nice relaxing with vocals reminiscent of the Noise genre type.

Mogwai - Mexican Grand Prix
Off of the album Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will

Mogwai - Mexican Grand Prix

I wasn't familiar with Mogwai before this album, and now I'm hooked. From Scotland (like a hell of a lot of good acts today), this is an amazing Post Rock/Progressive/Ambient album that is masterfully written. Have a listen and enjoy.
