This is a blog, dedicated to music enjoyed in its purest form: While sitting on a bathroom floor. As you listen to these songs, don't hesitate to send me songs as well. I'll listen to any song, and if it's good, I'll post it along with the other ones.

I really enjoy hearing what people think of the songs I play them, so send me your comments, criticisms, song, thoughts, or anything else you can think of. I'll get back to you with a (hopefully) witty retort.

Que significa?

Good evening everybody. Hope your weeks are going well and you are happy that it is over 1/2 way done!! I truly believe everyone works for the weekend. I'm so ready.

Anyway, so this week, after having an amazing time over the weekend seeing Zed's Dead and Pendulum with my partner in crime, Mr. Bell, I started wondering why I liked that sort of music so much. Some people don't even consider that music. Some suggest making music with computers has no relevance or doesn't require any talent.

So I questioned, "What is music to me and what makes a musician 'talented'?" From my perspective, music is just the interconnecting of sound waves to produce an emotional beat. I find music in odd things like the mixing of outdoor noises, the clanging of the subway, or just someone tapping a chair. I don't think one necessarily needs the ability to play an instrument to do this. This is why I find the artist Pogo so interesting.

Pogo, or Nick Bertke, lives in the land down under and produces music from sampling mostly Disney movies. GENIUS!!! Seriously. How this guy does it I have no idea. I thought Girl Talk was cool, but this guy is even better. Pogo takes sound bites from different movies and combines them to make sick beats. He even created a song from sample noises he made in his mom's garden. Definition of how music is defined in the ability to create a flowing melodic tones, not matter what source.

Currently Pogo has been getting a lot of press and gaining a lot of positive attention. Disney's Pixar even flew him out to work with them on the soundtrack for "UP".

On March 5th, Pogo will be playing in NYC at the Highline Ballroom so get your tickets!

Here are some of my favs from Pogo.
Pogo - Alice
Pogo - Upular
Pogo - Wishery

Take a look at his YouTube page too! He has even made music videos for his songs.

Can't wait to see him!
